Glossary
Arc
The TextifAI workspace for turning long-form fiction into structured, reviewable canon.
Canon
Structured story memory that the author has accepted, reviewed, or is actively evaluating. Canon should remain traceable to evidence or explicit author decisions.
VaERL
Vault-aware Entity Resolution Layer. The layer that helps resolve entities, aliases, facts, relationships, and evidence across a manuscript project.
Entity
A tracked narrative object such as a character, place, organization, object, event, concept, or rule.
Alias
A surface name or reference that may point to an entity. Example: “Mara,” “Captain Mara,” and “the captain.”
Relationship
A structured connection between entities, such as sibling, owns, commands, located in, follows, rivals, or reveals.
Evidence
Source material that supports a claim, relationship, or review item. Evidence may include file, chapter, excerpt, and surrounding context.
Source
The manuscript file, note, or approved document from which evidence is taken.
Review Queue
The author-facing list of uncertain, risky, or unresolved items that should be inspected before becoming stable canon.
Story Bible
A readable author reference for characters, locations, rules, and continuity. In Arc, the story bible should remain connected to structured canon and evidence.
Canon-aware AI context
A structured context packet for AI-assisted work that uses relevant canon, evidence, relationships, and review state instead of relying only on a raw prompt.
Completed with warnings
A project or ingestion state where useful output exists, but some stages reported warnings or partial results that should be reviewed.
Preview
A product or documentation state that may change before public release.
